Antonio Estanfadari, magician turn poker pro talks about the state of online poker and has some choice words for a certain congressmen

Poker was (and I still believe IS) on a serious upward swing. For a while there it seemed like nothing could stop its momentum. Until some guy named bill frisk decided to sneak in a bill into congress making it very difficult to play online poker. He did this act in a VERY shady manner. At the 11th hour he attached his bill to a port security bill. I’m not a law expert by any means but the idea of attaching a gambling bill to a port security bill doesn’t seem to make any sense to me. But he did it. He hurt millions of Americans that love the game of poker in order to benefit himself. As a result of his actions we have lost many online poker sites which were the main fuel behind advertising and many other things that drove the poker force.

However…even with that said there are still plenty of sites to play on and the momentum is STILL there. The beautiful thing about poker is that everyone who learns the game only wants to improve. No one learns poker and stops there. Every single person I have ever met just wants to get better. It’s a VERY unique and beautiful game and for that reason it’s not going anywhere. Poker is here to stay!!!

I wasn’t too sure what kind of numbers we were going to have for the WSOP this year. SO many of the players in the previous years were sent via online satellites. This year there were very few. However…there was still an amazing turnout. And not just for the main event. The whole thing was a moshpit. EVERY single 2k event seemed to have over 2000 people in it!!! And the main event had over 6 thousand. Those are fantastic numbers.

Move over Mr. Frisk poker is here to stay.
