AOL is sending twelve lucky winners to the World Series of Poker 2007 in Las Vegas this year. We’re excited to have such fine players represent our team. AOL games are running a series of winner interviews of our top players. Our poker studs beat out tens of thousands of other players to get a shot at the World Series of Poker Championship. Players from all walks of life are on the AOL team. Out of California and one of our fine civil servants, Rey Peña is under the team spotlight

    Rey, what is your occupation?
I'm currently employed by the CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL as a commercial vehicle inspector.

Tell us about your family and who will be accompanying you to the WSOP?
I've been married for 7 years and have a 4 year old son. Both my wife and son will be accompanying me.

What is it about poker that so engrossing for you?
I've been playing poker for about 4 years now and the adrenaline it gives me when I out play, out bluff, or out bet any opponent keeps it exciting for me.

Is there any advice you would give to the online poker playing public?
The only advice I can give to the online poker players would be to remember my name "RJsdad21" and watch out. Just kidding, my advice...not every hand is a winning hand sometimes you just have to FOLD!

Do you watch poker on TV or read about it?
I watch some poker on TV and I definitely watch the W.S.O.P.

Do you have a "lucky" items?
I can't really say that I carry anything around for luck.

If you win a huge prize, what will you do with the money?
If I win a huge prize I'd like to pay off my house and take a long vacation.

What did you do when you won your online tournament and found out you'd be going to play in the live WSOP?
While I was playing online I thought I was playing to qualify for another tournament. Luckily, another player asked what the prize was, when the online host answered a seat at the W.S.O.P., I knew I had to bring my A-Game. It was finally down to heads up play. I won with an 8 high straight, I called my wife Rachel into the room and sat back in shock. It was awesome!

Do you play other games on AOL?
I also occasionally play blackjack and word puzzle games.

Are you making any special preparations for the WSOP?
I've been playing more often on and offline in preparation for the W.S.O.P.

What is your strategy for playing at the live WSOP?
I plan on keeping my game the same and feeling out the crowd.

Thanks Rey, We love your confidence and I hope it pays off!
